Thank you for visiting our personal campaign page! Our beautiful daughter Katelyn has Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and we are helping to raise money for the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research. Katelyn is four years old turning five in July. She just finished her second year of pre-school and is looking forward to kindergarten. She stays active with swimming lessons and will be starting hippotherapy soon. Katelyn really wants to ride a "2-Wheeler" bike. Recently Katelyn ran in the "Run for Water" race with her brother and sister.
PWS has many challenges but the most difficult of these is the constant insatiable hungry. Children with PWS lack normal hungry satiety cues, they always feel hungry. Food causes a lot of anxiety in our household and can lead to behavioral issues as well. There are many other symptoms of PWS: physical delays, speech delays, behavioral issues, she also receives daily growth hormone injections and there are more.
All proceeds from the One SMALL Step walks go to fund the Prader-Willi Syndrome Research Plan jointly created by FPWR and PWSAUSA. Learn more about PWS and this event at http://www.fpwr.org/. Please join me and donate now!
