Syndromes that are rare, like PWS, there is no research being done by drug companies because they wouldn't make back the money put into research from the future sale of drugs. The population of PWS isn't large enough. So, it is up to the rest of us who will not gain a monetary profit from the research, but a better life for Annelise and others.
